Darren McCoy has practiced as a nurse since 1997. He initially worked as a hemodialysis nurse,  for three years. He completed a master’s degree in nursing at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville in 2000, shortly before joining Pain Consultants of East Tennessee as a nurse practitioner. He serves as an adjunct faculty member and clinical preceptor for the University of Tennessee College of Nursing, and has served as a presenter at PAIN Week.  Besides his experience in nursing, he also holds an undergraduate degree in technical writing and editing.
