Recently, Jeannette Tsuei, director of product for AppliedVR spent two days at Pain Consultants of East Tennessee to test the usability of their new virtual reality experience for patient pain management.

AppliedVR’s new virtual reality experience uses biofeedback to help patients self-regulate their response to stress, anxiety, and pain so they are better in tune with their body’s response and learn to have a more positive, healthy reaction to events in their daily lives.

The experience also teaches Acceptance and Commitment Therapy lessons that help patients make sense of what they’re going through when living with chronic pain and develop strong coping skills to manage their pain.

PCET patients who used the platform provided important feedback regarding what they thought about the virtual reality experience, which will help AppliedVR to make improvements.
