Pain Consultants of East Tennessee was honored to be invited to Roane State Community College to educate the students on the management of chronic pain. In attendance were the second year Occupational Therapy Assistant and Physical Therapy Assistant students as well as Massage Therapy students.
The students expressed a great interest in Dr. James Choo’s presentation on the opioid addiction epidemic in East Tennessee and the implications on the clinical management of chronic pain. He also presented the multidisciplinary approach to chronic pain management including medical procedures, psychology, physical therapy, occupational therapy as well as medication management.
“Taking the time to inform these students is so important, because in many programs our lecture will be the only education they get on chronic pain,” Dr. Choo said.
We look forward to going back next year as well as expanding the venues for our lectures.
