Pain Consultants of East Tennessee’s very own James Choo, M.D., received an invitation from The White House to attend an invitation-only forum at South College on Thursday, January 14th with Michael Botticelli, Director of National Drug Control Policy.
Choo attended the forum with other regional health care leaders as they discussed ways to combat prescription medication abuse and heroin addiction.
Choo and Ted Jones, PhD have played important roles in curbing prescription medication abuse throughout the state. In 2014, Governor Bill Haslam’s office commissioned the Tennessee Department of Health to gather a select group of practitioners from across the state to create the Tennessee Chronic Pain Guidelines. Both practitioners served as members of this committee.
