PCET Surgery Center Administrator Alana Booth, RN, CASC, was recently featured in an article published by ASCA Focus Magazine, where she discussed the need for Ambulatory Surgery Center Association members to utilize industry checklists to ensure regulatory compliance.
“It can be overwhelming for an administrator, especially one who is new to surgery centers or not seasoned, to run an ASC,” Booth was quoted as saying. “Use of checklists can be helpful in ensuring noting is overlooked for missed.
“If you have all of these items in one place, sectioned off under those critical areas, it will help with organization. It may take some time to create an initial, organized list, but once it is done, meeting standards and maintaining compliance will be easier.”
